Wow! Just found my blog!

It is over two years since I wrote my last post on here! I only rediscovered it because I googled Sew, Rae, Me because I thought it would be a great name for a blog and there I was!

At first I didn't realise it was me and I thought, wow, what are the odds of there being two Raes in Brisbane with family in the UK with a new overlocker. At which point the penny dropped and lo and behold it was me going on about how cold it is here in Brisbane in 2012. Which it is again, two years on from my last post and I am rugged up in my fabulous blue fleecy hooded jumper with the embroidered button!

This evening I am mostly knitting, reading and contemplating purchasing some very tasty crochet hooks made by Clover from Amazon in the States, and writing this. I need these hooks in my life because they are multi coloured like a rainbow and I can crochet a lovely case to put them in courtesy of Crochet Dynamite http://www.crochetdynamite.com/2013/04/clover-amour-hook-case.html and they will make me smile every time I use them.

I saw them in the flesh at a very nice wool shop in Melbourne with the lovely Rachel and even lovelier Maya. I resisted them there but I can feel my willpower ebbing away and I may change my Mother's Day gift from the kitchen scales, that I still haven't found, to these pretty crochet hooks! I am sure Mr Pickle and Jeremy would agree with me.

Rugging up

It is officially the first day of winter here in Australia and it felt quite chilly today here in Brisbane when the temperature dropped to an Arctic 22 degrees.

Friends and family back in the UK are now swearing at their computer screens as spring is in full swing with highs of 15 degrees and the ever present threat of snow!

Anyway, being the proud owner of a brand new Janome Mylock 644D, I decided to make an attempt at creating a fleece jumper out of thin air and some bits of material.

With Mr Pickle in school and Jeremy away in the middle of nowhere, I was able to whip up a fabulous blue fleecy number that I will be 'Rugging up' in, as they say in these parts. I even had time to embroider Sew Rae Me on the covered button. Heidi thinks I have too much time on my hands now.

With this in mind, I am going through my very small stash of fabric to see what I am going to make next. I feel in the mood for some sock creatures.
